Brewarrina was developed in the late 1860`s. Brewarrina was developed for river crossing of stock; later it became a thriving river port.
It is located at 97 km to the east of Bourke. 19th century style buildings are still present in the area. In Brewarrina fishing can be done. There is also a self drive tour of Darling River. 40 km to the North East of Brewarrina there is Narran Lake which features native birdlife and other fauna.
Aboriginal cultural museum
In Bathurst Street Brewarrina one can find Aboriginal cultural museum which displays aspects of Aboriginal life from Dream time to present. This museum is open from Monday to Friday.
Settlers Museum
Settlers Museum displays the life of the town in the late 1800`s and it also displays the river of the olden days.
