Evans Head is at the entrance of the Evans River and a fishing village with some good surfing beaches. Evans Head is the centre of Prawning industry.
It is located off the Pacific Highway via Woodburn. Evans Head has extensive surf beaches and sandy river flats. Some of the things which a visitor can do in Evans Head are Rock climbing, river and ocean fishing, boating, wind surfing, etc.

Bundjalung national park has aboriginal relics. It is located to the south of Evans Head. One can also experience Fishing, Swimming and Bushwalking. 5 km to the north of Bundjalung national park one can experience bush walking, bird watching, fishing and swimming. 11 km to the North West there is River Side Park beside the Richmond River. 14 km to the south of Richmond river one can find New Italy monument and the remains of the ill fated settlement. Guuragai Aboriginal arts and crafts located in the Italy complex has interesting and quality aboriginal arts.
