A popular tourist town with it's harbour and made famous due to the Kiama blowhole where water is lifted up to 60 metres and viewable at night. The Blowhole was discovered by the explorer George Bass in 1797.
Attractions in the town
Some of the attractions in the town are Terrace houses, specialty shops and craft shops in Collins Street. Family history centre on the railway parade contains worldwide collection of family records. At Blowhole point, blowhole there are pilot’s cottage historical museum, constructed rock pool, pelicans, café, etc. In the month of February Seven a side rugby competition is held. Market remains open on third Sunday of every month. Folk Music Festival is conducted during the month of June.

Little Blowwhole is located 2 km to the south of Tingira cres. Cathedral rocks are located 3 km to the north of Jones Beach, Kiama. A scenic rocky outcrop is best viewed at dawn.
