A Historical Stone Cottage is present in the Bettington Street. Bottle Museum is located on Vennacher Street, Merriwa. In the month of March one gets to experience Polocrosse Carnival and in the month of June one can experience Festival of Fleeces which also has fireworks.

Historic Sand Stone buildings are present at 45 km to the north west of Merriwa. 107 km to the North West of Merriwa one can find lookouts, waterfalls, glider possums, large snowgums, etc. This area can be accessed by a four wheel drive. There is an official gem-fossicking area 27 km to the south west of Merriwa.
