Rockingham is located 47 km to the south of Perth and it is present at the southern end of Cockburn Sound. It is a Coastal city and sea side destination. Rockingham was established in the year 1872 as a Timber port.
Attractions in Town
Museum is located on the Kent Street, Rockingham which features local history exhibit`s. The Granary is located on Rockingham Road which is present on the northern outskirts of the town which display`s history of the WA`s grain industry. Lookout and WW II coastal battery is located at Cape Peron on the Point Peron Road. In the month of December Christmas Regatta (Cockburn Yachting Regatta) is held.
Attractions in the Area
Penguin Island has a colony of little penguins. Penguin Experience Island Discovery Centre is open during the month of September – May. Diving excursions and cruises are organized. Shoalwater Bay Islands Marine Park is located to the south of Garden Island to Becher Point. Swim with dolphins tours are organized from the months of October to May. Marapana Wildlife World is located 15 km to the south of Rockingham.
