Shepparton is a major city located on the Goulbourn Valley Highway 184km north east of Melbourne. The highway is the main inland route from Melbourne to Brisbane.
Shepparton's main shopping area is based around Wyndham Street and along Maude Street. Just off Maude Street is the large communications tower which gives stunning views of the city and countryside from a viewing platform open to the public.
Wellsford Street is home to the War Memorial and the Paul Gribben Historical Precinct which houses the history of Shepparton in the old Foresters Hall and built in 1873.
Shepparton has two rivers that run through the Goulburn and Broken Rivers. They have excellent picnic places and bushwalking paths.
Victoria Park Lake is located south of Shepparton and has a recreational area including paths and skating. Next to the lake is Aquamoves Health and Fitness club which has indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
