Wyndham is the most northerly town and safe port harbour in Western Australia. Wyndham has two main areas the original Wyndham port on the Cambridge Gulf and Wyndham on the Great Northern Highway.
Attractions in town
Historic buildings are present in Port Town historic precinct on the main street. Anthon`s Landing is an Warriu Park Aboriginal Monument located in Town Centre. Port Display is present next to Marine and Harbours office near to wharf. Crocodile`s can be spotted from the wharf. Crocodiles, alligators and Komodo dragons are daily feed at Zoological Gardens and Crocodile park located on the Barytes Road. Wyndham Caravan Park located off the Great Northern Highway has he Boab tree which is 1500 – 2000 years old.
Attractions in the Area
To the south west of Wyndham on the King River Road Aboriginal rock paintings are present. Prison tree, boab tree is 2000 – 4000 years old which was used by local police as look up. Horse treks are present 33 km to the west from the Diggers Rest Station. Five Rivers Lookout is present at 5 km to the North atop Bastion Range which has spectacular views of Kimberley landscape.
